Al Gore Cleared in Sexual Assault Case by Portland District Attorney

Former Vice President Al Gore did not commit acts of sexual harassment "appropriate for criminal prosecution," according to office of the district attorney of Portland, Oregon, which has been investigating allegations that Gore made unwanted advances to a masseuse at a Portland hotel in 2006.

An Oregon woman, Molly Hagerty, claimed that Gore propositioned her and tried to hug her when she came to his hotel room to give him a massage.

But Senior Deputy District Attorney Don Rees, in a memo to the D.A., Michael D. Schrunk, wrote that Hagerty gave no indication afterwards that she was upset, as she later claimed.
Gore's spokeswoman, Kalee Kreider, issued a statement: "Mr. Gore unequivocally and emphatically denied this accusation when he first learned of its existence three years ago. He respects and appreciates the thorough and professional work of the Portland authorities and is pleased that this matter has now been resolved."

Love Parade 2010 Ends in Disaster

The Love Parade 2010, which took place in Duisburg this weekend, ended in a deadly tragedy due to a mass panic on Saturday evening.
According to a German news source, officials confirmed today that 19 partygoers died and 342 were injured in a stampede at Europe's largest techno music event.
The mass panic happened when people were pushing through an overcrowded tunnel, which lead to the Love Parade festival grounds - it was the lone entrance to the music festival with its 1.4 million visitors.

In panic, revelers tried to climb up steep staircases, and metal barricades; many of them fell off and onto the people below, which triggered the stampede.

Outcry over topless shots of Zippora Seven

An Australian magazine is being investigated after photographing a 16-year-old girl topless in two fashion shoots. Russh Australia, a lifestyle and fashion magazine, hired Zippora Seven for a provocative 18-page editorial fashion spread alongside 16-year-old male model Levi Clarke.
Shot in March, one of the images depicts the pair sharing a bubble bath nude with Zippora Seven topless.
In the foreground are four bottles of champagne. The Classifications Act prohibits the depiction of nudity and sexual activity of minors under 18. A spokesperson for the Australian Classification Board said: “I can advise that the board has contacted the publisher of Russh Australia.” Seven’s Australian agent, Priscilla Leighton-Clark, said the photo shoot had gone too far.
“It’s wrong that our girl has appeared in a magazine exposing her breasts when she’s so young,” Ms Leighton-Clark said. Russh editor Natalie Shukur defended the Seven shoot, which was inspired by supermodel Kate Moss and actor Johnny Depp when they dated.
“We believe Russh readers ‘get it’ in this narrative story,” she said. “These are beautiful images of two young people in character.” Russh is marketed towards fashion-minded 18 to 35-year-olds with almost equal readership of males and females. In a brief interview with Seven, the magazine asked, “When and where was your first kiss?”
“My first lick was in the bubble bath with Levi,” she answered.
